CEMTECH Europe which is one of the CEMTECH Conference series organized twice a year by the International Cement Review which is one of the leading publications of the sector has been organized in between 26th and 29th September 2010 at Istanbul Swiss Hotel.
Alongside the cement plants which consist our experience in the sector and that we have successfully established and put in to operation, in accordance with our desire to continue our activities in that sector, we have attended that conference as EKON Industry Construction and Trade Inc.
In the exhibition area of the conference which has been attended by approximately 400 local and foreign participants with a varying profile from the current investors to potential investors, manufacturing firms to importer firms, about 40 firms including EKON have found the opportunity to present their projects, products and sectorial activities at their stands. Our stand has been visited by local and foreign investing firms and manufacturing firms and we have compared notes on our activities in the sector, potential investments and etc. subjects.
On the second day of the conference where we were also speaker, our General Director Mr. Huseyin Ozkan has indicated in his presentation titled “An Overview to CIMPOR Hasanoglan Project as an EPC Project Application” the problems in engineering, supply, construction and project management issues and the recommended paths for solution for overcoming these problems while planning their investments. In his speech, based on the example of CIMPOR Hasanoglan Cement Plant with 500 tons/day capacity which we have recently completed and put in to operation, Mr. Ozkan has mentioned that we can provide services as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Contractor in accordance with the structuring of PROKON – EKON Group of Companies, we can undertake the problems and risks which the investors may experience during the implementation phase of their projects and enable the investors to focus on their own fields as production, marketing and sales. Within this scope, the attendants have been provided information related with the construction phases of Hasanoglan Cement Plant beginning from the scope of the project contract and the importance we attach to the occupational health and safety issue has been emphasized.
In addition, during the conference a short film which was prepared by using three dimensional and real images of CIMPOR Hasanoglan Cement Plant as the latest cement plant built in Turkey has been shown to the attendants and the film has attracted great attention.
