Yeni Elektrik Uretim Anonim Sirketi, which has been established by the International Italian firm ANSALDO Energia in order to establish the 850 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant to be built at the vicinity of Gebze Dilovasi has assigned Yeni AEN Insaat A.S., the establishment of ANSALDO in Turkey as the EPC Contractor of the project for the Gebze 850 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Civil and Mechanical Erection Works and Mechanical Supply of the Balance of Plant. The Project consists of 2 gas turbines and generator set, 2 horizontal type heat recovery steam generators and their chimneys, 1 steam turbine and generator and any required balance of plant equipment.

EKON Industry Construction and Trade Inc. and Yeni AEN Insaat A.S. have signed a contract on the 12th of July 2011 for all construction and mechanical works and supply of equipment for the balance of plant of the project and the project duration is 27 months. In addition to this, the pipeline bridges, supplementary boiler facility, water facilities and tanks, supplementary electric buildings, natural gas RMS – A station, social buildings and facilities, underground galleries, pumping structures, pump foundations and transformer foundations are also within the scope of the project. It is estimated that the facility which will occupy about 160 thousands of square meters will be opened on the 13th of January 2014. It is planned that the power plant will supply electricity to the national grid and Istanbul metropolis as well as the nearby highly populated cities and industrial establishments.
