<li>Shifting Flue Gas: Flue gas produced by thermal plants will be directed to new desulfurization units.</li>
<li>Desulphurızatıon process: Flue gas which contains SO<sub>2 </sub>will be subjected to the chemical reaction by using wet limestone</li>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On 26th of March in 2021, Etimaden and Ekon signed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for The Construction of Turbogenerator Systems and Modernization of Energy infrastructure located in Eti Maden’s existing Boron and Acid Plant at Bandirma, Balikesir.</p>
<p>Within the scope of this turnkey project, Ekon undertakes the entire of Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction-Installation Works, as well as start-up and commissioning of the installed systems. Upon conducting performance tests, Ekon trains to Eti Maden’s technical staff for successful the operation of the new system.</p>
<p>Operations Directorate of Bandirma Boron and Acid Plant processes Boron mine and transforms into high value-added, high quality and sustainable refined Boron products.</p>
<p>Turkey has 73% of World Boron reserve and Bandırma Boron and Acid Plant is one of the most important Boron Products Manufacturing Plant in Turkey. It supports energy savings and makes additional contribution to economy by means of existing 2 x 5.33MW Turbine Generator Groups which currently partially respond to power demand of the plants.</p>
<p>After the completion of project undertaken by Ekon, 36 MW new steam turbine-generator with its auxilliary units including a cooling system serving new and existing turbogenerator systems simultaneously, the modernization of the existing 2 x 5.33MW turbine – generator groups and their integration with the new system, 2 Main Distribution Center Buildings (ADM-1 &amp; ADM-2) in where 34.5kV / 15kV / 6.3kV Swichgears , transformers in varied types and sizes and AC-DC Low Voltage Distribution Systems shall be installed; a new DCS which includes Energy Monitoring &amp; Power Management System, Turbine Control Systems, Process and PMS will be made available to increase the energy production capacity of existing plants in order to ensure continuous operation of the facility without any dependence to external power source. Furthermore the energy infrastructure will be modernized.</p>

<td>The operation of the power plant is within the scope of Turkish Electricity Generation Company and EKON is the contractor of EÜAŞ within the scope of detailed engineering, steel manufacturing, erection works and civil works, mechanical, electrical and automation works.</p>
<p>Project covers the dismantling-erection and structures which were damaged as result of fire which had occurred in the boiler building such as boiler carrier construction system and boiler building steel construction, electricity, cables and carriers, instrumentation, cabinet and equipments, electromechanical control valve and actuators, electronic control room, panel and transformer room, elevator and pit, pipes, gas ducts, suspension systems, vapor filters, carrier stands, vapor fans and motors, screw extractors, and spillway equipments (all profiles, platforms, handrails and cladding works) and commissioning of renovated systems.</p>
<p>Main work items are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>Construction works (Steel construction, cladding and isolation works)</li>
<li>Mechanical Works (Electro filter and auxiliary equipments, pipelines, isolation and instruments etc)</li>
<li>Electricity and Automation works</li>
</ul>
<p>Heavy damaged vertical and horizontal carriers, other auxiliary equipments which are constructed from steel construction (walkway, platform, stair etc.) will be manufactured from structural steel and will be erected by EKON. Reinforcing works in main column and beams of boiler will be executed by EKON. Surface cleaning and paint works for non-damaged supports will be executed by EKON. Design and erection of crossing structures will be performed by EKON in order to facilitate the transportation of material between units. Exterior and roof cladding will be dismantled and renewed with sandwich panel filled with stone wool. Shutter and doors which are located in the 2<sup>nd</sup> unit and roof drain system will be renewed by EKON according to their original status.</p>
<p>Within the scope of mechanical works vapor filters will be reconstructed again together with their auxiliary equipments and they will be erected. Elevator and crane equipments which were damaged after fire will reconstructed by EKON. Cold Re-superheater (RH) which is the main part of the vapor system will be renewed by EKON according to the damage which was determined by analysis usinf electromechanical devices. Vapor fly ash blowing and all valves which are located in fire zone will be dismantled and renewed. All fire lines and equipments (fire cabinet, fire hose, valve), vacuum cleaning system, auxiliary vapor pipes, service line, instrument air installation, closed circuit cooling make up tanks and installation tanks belonging to this tank, boiler support springs (as result of test), all system and equipment isolations will be replaced with new ones by EKON.</p>
<p>Within the scope of electricity works; cable trays, ladders and accessories, power cables, lighting system and cables, electrical panels, transformers, vapor filters fan motors, elevator and crane system electrical installation, grounding installation, lightning protection and airplane warning system, fly ash blowing system electrical installation will be renewed completely by EKON</p>
<p>Within the scope of electronics and communication works; signal and automation cables, automation and measurement panels, switches and sensors, actuators, transmitters, analyzer, roof shutter pneumatic systems will be replaced by EKON.</td>

<td>The Project area is located between Erbaa and Niksar, which is app. 80 km north of the city, Tokat and app. 200 km south of the city Samsun on the Kelkit River.The hydroelectric plant is composed of two big and one smaller units, with the total capacity of 68.5 MW.</p>
<p>Project covers the manufacturing, erection, testing and commissioning works of mechanical and hydromechanical equipment, and also supply and provision of the spare parts described in technical specification. Design and engineering works of water intake structure stop logs, emergency gates, suction side stop logs, spillway stop logs and radial gates are within the scope of the project. The diameter of the penstock which shall be manufactured at our workshop in Ankara and transported to the project site is 5000 mm. The transportation distance between Ankara and project site is app. 500 km.</td>

<td>The main contractor and investor of the power plant is Italian company ANSALDO ENERGIA s.p.a. (AEN) and EKON Industry Construction and Trade Inc. is local contractor of AEN for the scope of complete detail engineering, manufacturing, civil and structural steel works, supply and erection works of the plant.</p>
<p>The main quantities in the scope of EKON are as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>Concrete : 38.000 m3</li>
<li>Formwork : 41.500 m2</li>
<li>Reinforcement Bar : 4.700 ton</li>
<li>Steel structure supply+erection: 4.900 ton</li>
<li>Cladding : 17.000 m2</li>
<li>Piping inc.supports : 973 ton</li>
<li>2xHRSG non-pressure part manufacturing : 3.333 ton</li>
<li>2xHRSG Erection : 9.600 ton</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: left;">The project covers 2 units of 94.3A gas turbines (each 294 MW), and generators set, 2 units of heat recovery steam generators with stack, 1 unit of steam turbine with a capacity of 280 MW.The foundations of Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine Structures are in reinforced concrete type where the superstructures are designed in steel structure type. There are also one electrical building for each unit adjacent to the turbine structures and there is an individual electrical building within each heat recovery steam generator structure. Moreover, the project includes one Air-Cooled Condenser for condensing of the steam and one Fin Fan Cooler for closed cooling system.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The supply of heat recovery steam generator is delivered by STF s.p.a (Italy) where the supply of Air-Cooled Condenser and Fin Fan Cooler aredelivered by SPIG s.p.a (Italy) and also the supply of gas &amp; steam turbines are delivered by AEN. The non-pressure parts of HRSGs are manufactured in EKON&#8217;s fabrication facilities.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">In addition to the Power Island mentioned above; pipe racks, auxiliary boiler plant, water treatment plants and tanks, auxiliary electrical buildings, natural gas RMS-A station, administration building, underground galleries, pump stations, pump foundations, transformer foundations etc. structures are also defined in the scope of EKON.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Cranes &amp; hoists, atmospheric tanks, fire fighting systems, heating ventilating and air conditioning system (HVAC), natural gas connection system to main pipeline (HOT-TAP) and Gas Pressure Reducing Station are supplied by EKON on EPC turn-key basis.</p>
